The shoot begins as a collaboration, and I work alongside my fellow photographer Victor Hawk. Together we exchanged ideas and perspectives, which brings even more depth to the creative process. What starts as a shared project evolves into something larger — a full campaign narrative of elegance, identity, and duality.
Leo & Lumiere is a story of contrast and harmony. Leo represents the roar, the raw energy; Lumiere the glow, softness, grace. Together they form the brand’s identity — bold yet elegant, fierce yet feminine.
Their focus is on luxurious materials — the Capri Collection, for example, is made of 100% mulberry silk, with rich colours inspired by Capri and prints created in collaboration with Pink Pineapple Designs. Sustainability is central to their mission: responsible materials, thoughtful processes, careful craftsmanship.
The Shoot: Atmosphere, Light, Emotion
I was involved in shooting the “Shades of Umber & Gold” capsule from Leo & Lumiere — also known as the Trésor — Umber & Gold print collection. This line is all about warm earth tones, metallic accents, and textures that play with light in rich, opulent ways.
My photographic choices to amplify umber + gold:
- Natural golden hour light to enhance the gold tones, letting fabric catch the sun without losing richness in shadows.
- Interiors with warm woods, textured walls, vintage gold fixtures, to echo the metallic hints and earthy tones.
- Movement and drape: silk flowing, catches the breeze, folds and shines — silk is luminous, and here the gold threads or gold leaf/shimmer in the fabric reflect subtly.
- Duality in styling — pairing structured pieces with flowing ones; bold silhouettes softened by gentle lighting.
What This Campaign Means
This campaign is not only about dresses. It is about identity. It speaks to a woman who holds both softness and power, who expresses herself unapologetically. Leo & Lumiere’s silk dresses are a material expression of that duality — gentle in touch, strong in form; light in fabric, bold in colour. For me, photographing this story means shaping an image of quiet rebellion, grace earned through strength, and confidence that radiates.
