Contemporary dance at runway show, AFW Resot2026

The theatrical presentation opened with a dance performance, setting the tone for the brand’s “Mycelium Dreams” collection inspired by the natural world and ballet.

The Romance Was Born Resort 2026 show opened in the most magical way — not with a model, but with a dancer. And that was no coincidence. The entire collection was inspired by the Ballets Russes, Art Nouveau, and the vivid illustrations of Léon Bakst, which shaped its silhouettes and colour palette.

As someone who once worked on the Australian tour of OPERAMANIA, a production that brought ballet performers to major cities across the country, photographing this show felt especially emotional. The opening was absolutely captivating — a perfect fusion of fashion and performance.
